In a twist no one saw coming, a GenSec guard at Roger Wilson Cargo Terminal became an unlikely hero after discovering a woman who had been lost for two months—while just trying to find a restroom.
Probably the least expected rescue of the year, a GenSec guard at Roger Wilson Cargo Terminal stumbled upon a woman who had apparently been lost for two months—inside the cargo dock. While making his routine rounds, the guard heard a mysterious banging sound. Thinking it might be coming from one of the containers (likely hoping it wasn’t another disgruntled pigeon), he followed the noise, only to discover a woman, looking more like a castaway than a city dweller.
The woman, who NYPD says had been reported missing two months ago, claimed she was simply trying to find a restroom before getting hopelessly lost. According to the guard, her survival was nothing short of resourceful. “She survived on rats and puddle water,” he explained. “If she was lucky, she cooked up a seagull that was resting.”
The guard’s quick-thinking actions have earned him praise—and a nice boost in GenSec’s stock price.
